Adjustments.
There are various types of Chiropractic adjustments that can be utilized for care. Dr.Martin will try to determine what types of adjustments your body will tolerate and require in order to provide you with the safest and most effective care. Some of the types of adjustments include.

What happens during an adjustment .
The adjustment or correction of a subluxation is the means of care provided by the Chiropractor. An adjustment is the application of a precise force to restore the vertebrae to its natural position. Only a chiropractor has developed the expertise and understanding needed to know when, where and how to apply a spinal adjustment.

The soft tissues, the muscles and ligaments, are stretched when the vertebrae is in an unnatural position, so these tissues must have time to rehabilitate. Normally, proper muscle tone, ligament position and the shape of the vertebrae will keep the vertebrae functioning normally.

Stretches.
As your adjustments begin to stabilize, Dr. Martin may incorporate a stretching program for the ligaments surrounding the injured area in the spine or body part. These stretches may be preformed with Dr. Martin and once learned will be encouraged to be performed by the patient on a regular basis.
